Good Grief

It never ceases to amaze me how one person can fail to understand a concept so simple a child could understand it and generate a long conversation about it in which in addition to them not understanding it, someone else who either doesn't understand the concept or doesn't understand the question will then give a wrong answer, this generating yet more replies.

And on and on.....................and on.

Ok, Here's The Deal

First of all, when it comes to planting letterboxes, you should be concerned with quality instead of quantity. Got that?

And letting people know that a fee is involved in getting into the park is HELPFUL. Especially when people, namely me, have been to a lot of different parks in that area and never had to pay a fee before so never thought about one.

Annnnnnd.....if you hide a box underneath the back porch of a rental cabin in said park, you MIGHT want to consider the fact that on the weekends people might actually RENT the cabin and hang out in the yard, this making it impossible to retrieve the box after one has paid the fee.

And I hear that one of your other recent plants is surrounded by an interesting crop of used condoms.

Here's a thought. THINK before you plant.

Atlas Shrugged*

is what Atlasquest has become. It's just one big gigantic BORE.

It is filled with people asking questions they could have found the answer to just by clicking around the site or googling. But instead they clutter up the boards, usually the wrong one with a question that then generates a flurry or repetitious replies and silly comments.

If it's not boring, it's annoying. It's become the same old debates and arguements over and over and over. I have been guilty of getting caught up in this stupidity more often than I care to admit and I am sick of it. Frankly, I'm pretty bored with myself also. I recently put almost all the boards on 'ignore' so I will no longer be tempted to join in the drivel of round and round "conversations" that rarely accomplish much more than hurt feelings and stress.

Boring. Annoying. And the inmates seem to be in charge of the asylum.

The novelty (if there ever was any) wore off a long time ago. It's time to try and join the wise people who rarely post and just continue with our wonderful hobby avoiding all the crap and nonsense.

But wait, what will I find to bitch about? I'm sure there will be something!!

A Thank You Would Be Nice

Ok, here's the deal. Someone comes on a board and says they are going to be in your city on vacation at some point and if someone could post or email them on AQ about some alternatives to the very expensive hotels in the area, that would be great.

So, I write them a nice note giving them a couple of ideas and also offering to answer any questions they may have and say an exchange would be great if they have the time when they are here.

They have logged onto AQ several times since then, actually pretty much every day. Do they write me and say thank you, or even acknowledge the fact that I wrote to them? NO.

That is SO rude.

Maybe I'll send her a copy.

Why Do You Care?

If as you say, you don't see the appeal of LTCs and you don't make or trade LTCs, (and it sounds like you have no plans to do so) why do you care if someone uses their own stamp, a commercial stamp, or a hand carved stamp by another person?

Do you post these kinds of questions to make trouble or just to try and create an opportunity to make semi-snide remarks in an attempt to try and seem superior. Since it's usually pretty clear that you feel you are superior.

Or does someone just have way too much time on their hands?

Better to get it off my chest here and not get flamed for being "harsh" or "rude" and run the risk of being deleted. My blog, my mouth, my opinions.
